Dear GESS users

Firstly, we would like to thank all participants of the user satisfaction survey for giving us your opinions on GESS and congratulate the winner of the prize draw for the book.

The results and answers of the survey gave us a good feedback on how information and functions of GESS are used and how to improve them. Below we present a summary of the most important findings and our replies to some of the comments we received.

In general, the majority of respondents consider GESS user-friendly and visit the platform rather regularly. The results of the survey indicate that the participants are able to find information fairly easily and the depth of information is  satisfactory.

Regarding the use and application of the different GESS functions, participants mostly use the News section, Country profiles, Links and the Topics section of GESS. They are mainly interested in sharing news and documents as well as in participating in discussion groups (G-Forum). They also feel it rewarding to contribute to GESS. However, many respondents indicated that they lack the technical know-how to use the participatory functions of the platform.

In light of the results, we will continue to work on improving GESS, especially making it easier for users to post their contributions on the platform.

We have (already) started to restructure the page at different levels (content, navigation, structure of different topic sections and country pages) and we will keep you posted on these developments. In order to receive continuous feedback, we will leave the survey permanently online.

Please note that if you face technical difficulties, e.g. accessing your account, do not hesitate to write an e-mail with a brief description of the problem at hand to the administration to help us to improve GESS.

-The GESS team-
