GESS provides a mapping of the available training courses in the field of the extension of social security (under construction) :

• Turin, 26 November - 7 December 2007 : ITC ILO is organizing an interregional training course to strengthen the capacity of planners and social actors to develop tripartite strategies for the extension of social protection. See the course description

GESS provides self-learning kits available online (under construction)

• An introductory module on Social budgeting
• Strategies for the extension of social protection
• The role of international social security standards in the extension of social security

GESS library also provides a selection of training material on several topics, validated by experts and trainers. These tools are usefull for self-learning and to organize training sessions:

• Manual providing an overview of social health insurance
• Presentation on the extension of social security

GESS considers designing and producing on line distance courses in partnership with universities and specialized training centres. Discussions are currently under way with the University of Maastricht to develop and put into place distance learning training modules.
